Lebanon : PPRD South 3 response to the crisis.

Following the double explosion at Beirut port which severely affected the Lebanese capital, the entire PPRD South 3 team is mobilised for Lebanon, partner country of this project for the prevention, preparation and response to natural and man-made disasters.

Relying on its network of the seven other partner countries in the region, PPRD Sud 3 facilitates exchanges among the States able support Lebanon. As part of our regular discussions, during the last meeting held on August 6, the actions envisaged by each of the partner countries were listed. And the team forwarded them to the European Commission.

At the end of February, during a workshop organised by PPRD Sud 3 in Tunis, the participants, namely the focal points of the project partner countries, worked on disaster scenarios and how to organize and receive international assistance in a Mediterranean country (component 1 dedicated to prevention). In addition, in July 2019, at the National School of Fire Brigade Officers in France and later in October in Beirut itself, PPRD Sud 3 (component 2 dedicated to the response) organized a workshop on industrial risk management.
