Member of PPRD South Partner Country Network 3
Israel is one of the 10 partner countries of the PPRD South 3 programme. Together, they are mobilizing to develop Euro-Mediterranean collaboration in risk management and disaster preparedness.
In Israel, the implementation of the activities of PPRD Sud 3 is carried out by the National Emergency Management Authority (Autorité Nationale de Gestion des Urgences), which is itself under the responsibility of the Ministry of the Interior. Established in 1997, this authority is responsible for coordinating military and civil action in the event of a state of emergency, war or natural disaster. At the same time, the Fire and Rescue Services (Fire and Rescue Services), also under the authority of the Ministry of the Interior, are also responsible for providing assistance against terrorist attacks, car accidents and spills of dangerous substances, in addition to firefighting. Finally, the Home Front Command, established in 1992, is responsible for preparing the civilian population for conflict or disaster, assisting them during the crisis and contributing to reconstruction.
